Strategy guides
What is an asynchronous strategy game?
Bastions of Ash keeps production, queues, and movements progressing after you leave. Strategy comes from choosing and anticipating orders, not from watching a screen continuously.
Give orders, then let the world move
You choose which buildings, researches, training batches, convoys, and missions to launch. The server retains their deadlines and resolves them when due, even while you are offline.
When you return, reports and the world state show what changed. You can then adjust your economy, defenses, or diplomacy.
A rhythm built around decisions
A short session can be enough to review reports, adjust queues, and prepare the next moves. Collective or military situations may require more coordination, but the game does not rely on real-time reflexes.
What continues while you are away
- Local resource production.
- Buildings, researches, and training already underway.
- Mission and convoy travel.
- Season progress and other players’ actions.
